57 Housing units on the ETSAV campus

Conceived of as empty spaces, free of interior compartments, the university residential housing on the campus in Sant Cugat are formed by a series of precast reinforced concrete drawers, stacked up two high and aligned in two parallel blocks, with a large central atrium. The residential program for architecture student provides the possibility to intensify the coexistence between users, both on individually, due to the interior flexibility of the housing, and collectively, thanks to the potential use of the atrium as a space for social events. The central atrium will be covered in the future to create an intermediate, bioclimatic space, which will permit a major improvement in the energy efficiency of the building at the same time it economizes on the building envelope.
